The Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (PICC), established in 1987, is an independent non-profit connecting Israeli and Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey and Delaware-based innovators, companies, governmental agencies and economic development organizations. We support business collaborations, as well as encourage and assist Israeli companies opening their US offices in our region.
The PICC also represents the US-Israel Binational Industrial R&D (BIRD) Foundation in PA and DE. BIRD annually awards 20 grants of up to $1m/each to US-Israeli game-changing joint ventures. The PICC assists with introductions to prospective research and development partners and coaches companies to submit their grant request.
The PICC was founded by renowned Philadelphia business leaders, including the late Albert Soffa of Kulicke & Soffa and Dr. Felix Zandman of Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., both pioneers in the establishment of business entities in Israel that still thrive today. PICC’s network continues to include global companies with U.S. headquarters in our region that maintain operations in Israel, including SAP Americas, Inc., Lockheed Martin, and TEVA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and a rich mix of technology businesses, tech support companies, service professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, government and academic leaders.
