PICC Success Stories

Ms.Tal Ohana, Mayor, City of Yeruham, Israel

Dear Vered,

Since Israel Ambassador Dani Dayan introduced us in September 2019, which led to our meeting in Philadelphia that month, you have opened significant economic development opportunities for the City of Yeruham.

First, you introduced me to your President at the time, Neil Cooper. He visited Yeruham and met with MindCET, an Israeli ed-tech company, during your mission to Israel in September 2019. He then introduced them to an investment fund in New York, leading to more opportunities.

Several month ago, when I decided to establish an infrastructure for a first-of-its-kind advanced immunizations manufacturing plant in Yeruham, and aspired to partner with international companies, I reached out to you. After few minutes, you connected me to Ron Shamir, Co-Founder and Director of Tera Enterprise Ltd., which commercializes technologies developed by Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR). Rom became the engine behind this visionary project and helped make it a reality. Click for news story.

Recently, IIBR has completed a groundbreaking scientific development, identifying an antibody that neutralizes the coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. IIBR announced that it had begun testing a COVID-19 vaccine prototype on rodents and intends to produce the vaccine in Yeruham. The little city of Yeruham received vital attention from you, in this crucial intersection in its history. After many decades of dependency on traditional manufacturing which gradually closed-down leaving high unemployment rates, we can now see new positive future.

As the head of the City Council, I dedicate most of my time to identifying global opportunities. I would like to thank you and am praying for future introductions and opportunities as this one, as well as for a strong economic and social future for the State of Israel and our city.

I look forward to hosting your future delegations.

Sincerely,
Tal Ohana Mayor

Dear Vered,

Your dynamic leadership of the PICC is credited with significant mile stones Jefferson achieved with its relationship with Israel: The MOU signed with the Governor of PA (June 2018), The two outstanding Pilot Programs with the IIA (2019, 2020), The presentations of the Rabin Awards at memorable 2019 PICC Galas, the recent visit of PA Governor to Israel (1.2020), and more.

Continued support of the PICC is important to maintain this outstanding track of successful collaboration especially at current times that are challenging the nation and humanity.

Tiffany McKever, Founder and CEO, Consensus Healthcare

My name is Tiffany McKever and I am the Founder and CEO of Consensus Healthcare Consultants Inc. Following discussions with a NJ based organization focused on economic development, I was introduced to the PICC in July of 2019. PICC’s Executive Director, Vered Nohi, moved through what would normally occur during a corporate strategy session during our first 1:1. Our time was used well to connect, establish a rapport and more importantly build a roadmap for components of CHC Inc’s future state. I have interacted with other chambers of commerce and find it rare that these milestones can develop within an introductory call.

Most significant beyond the introductory call were the experiences leading up to and during PICC’s Mission Trip to Israel in September 2019. With initial introductions to the chamber in July, I quickly made the decision to join the mission trip and would work hand in hand with Ms. Nohi to ensure not only a successful mission experience but additional connections/meetings related to my organizational goals. We quickly established calendar meetings with a significant healthcare system and tied these interactions to decision points in our differentiation as a start-up. Having traveled globally for business in the past, I must say Israel’s economic and innovation capabilities became very evident to me during the mission. In fact, the variance speed and scale were breathtaking and more importantly inspiring. I can’t say enough as a member regarding the leaderships ability to coordinate and operationalize such a large-scale mission to support US-Israeli innovation activities. Significant to the participants within the mission is the collaboration and in formal mentoring for first time participants. The schedule was effectively diverse and opened the possibilities to innovate beyond my industry. The experience was invaluable and I look forward to the next mission.

Upon return to the US, I joined the PICC as member and began to connect with other members and leverage every event in support of the PICC organization. CHC Inc. has established it’s Finance and Legal Advisory and more importantly genuine friendships through and beyond the PICC. The network is far reaching and clearly branded with distinction through efforts to support not just connections but more importantly the collaborations in the US and abroad. Much of where CHC Inc. stands today and in the future is as a result of interactions with PICC and the PICC family.

Forever inspired, PICC Member

The only reason I recommended PICC is the rock-star at the helm named Vered!

PICC is a phenomenal organization that helps to galvanize and foster public-industry-academia partnerships for the greater good.  PICC has been an integral part of connecting businesses in the greater south Jersey region with many of the emerging technologies and research that are occurring in our sister State of Israel.

Gideon Israeli, OpisoftCare

“I want to congratulate you on the success of the Israel Technology Conference.  The caliber of attendees from both Israel and the US was excellent and the presentations, discussion sessions, and networking opportunities were fantastic.”

Inna Y. Belopolsky, Esq.

“DermaFlow certainly benefited by being able to participate – we have already followed up with a several potential collaborators and in the coming week I expect we will connect with additional investors and institutions who expressed an interest in working with us.
Our talk about how to potentially structure a BIRD project makes me believe that we have potentially two opportunities…”

Jim Kleinburd, Carbon360 Partners

“Thank you for all your support and hard work at the Biomed conference! It was very useful for me to have a small group of people that I at least knew and the booth was a useful focal point to meet people at or at least start from.”

Ashley Lawton, Shire

“Thank you – well done.  I have never seen a conference where the presentations were provided to the attendees so quickly and without having to ask.  Compliments to your team! As a result of your conference and the tie-in to Impact, we have already developed a good discussion with another attending company.  Will keep you informed if it develops further.”

U.S. Participant in Cleantech Conference

“I am in touch with the company and we are meeting Friday morning. Actually, another start up contacted me from Israel on the basis of our Chamber membership. Thanks.”

Rabbi Gary Charlestein, CEO, Premier Dental Products

“Many thanks, you did a fabulous job as usual. We look forward to increasing our trade and investment with Israel, both ways.”

Wilfred Muskens, Deputy Secretary International Business Development, Commonwealth of PA

“I’m writing to you today to note this and to thank you for what you have done for Trendlines. We’ve a long tradition of relationships in Philadelphia. Our relationships in the State of Pennsylvania have gone from strength to strength. We seem to be building on all of this with your help.”
