FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Greater Philadelphia Attracts Digital Health Conference
For the second year running, the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce Presents the Israeli Digital Health Summit
PHILADELPHIA (November 11, 2015)—Some of the most imaginative and promising technologies in digital healthcare will be on display in our region this week when the Israeli Digital Health Summit returns to Philadelphia for a second year in a row.
Hosted by the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (PICC), mHealth Israel, Drexel University, Greenberg Traurig LLP, and University Science Center, the event will take place Thursday, November 12 and will introduce industry leaders from our region, to no fewer than twelve digital health companies from Israel, a leading center of medical technology and innovation.
“Israel is a digital health powerhouse,” said Richard A. Bendit, Esq., President of the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC. “This is what we do best, bringing business and science leaders from our region together with their counterparts in Israel.”
Vered Nohi, Executive Director of the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber, added, “The summit is a great chance for the Israelis to present their new technologies and for us to showcase the many benefits of setting up shop in this region.”
On display at the conference will be a spectrum of new Israeli ideas and software from tools to better manage cancer, diabetes and neuroscience care, to
applications that address patient communications, Electronic Medical Records and improve medication compliance and management.
Some of the biggest brands on the Greater Philadelphia healthcare landscape will be in attendance, including Drexel University, Thomas Jefferson University, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, A. I. DuPont Nemours Children’s Hospital, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, GlaxoSmithKline, and Independence Blue Cross.
This year has seen tremendous growth in interest and activity involving this region and Israel. In July, Philadelphia Mayor Michael J. Nutter led a trade delegation to Israel, his second trade mission there. In addition to helping coordinate and accompanying him on the trip, the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber also organized a series of industry conferences during the year in the areas of CleanTech, Cyber Security and Defense, Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
