FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In a first, Israeli Company Track Launched at the
25th Annual PACT Capital Conference
September 26, Xfinity Live in Philadelphia
(Philadelphia, PA — Friday, September 21, 2018) For the first time in its history, the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies—a beehive of investor opportunity—will launch a series of Israeli company pitches. The event is being staged in collaboration with the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Israel Economic Mission in NYC.
The PACT Annual Conference takes place on September 26, 2018 at Xfinity Live in Philadelphia. Five Israeli companies: G-Max Security, Fitango Health, Somatix, Swave Media, and Walk in the Park, will introduce themselves publicly to investors, entrepreneurs, and senior level executives who will be scouting for the latest cutting-edge technologies beginning 3:15 PM.
Israel, known as “Startup Nation”, is a world leader in innovation. It ranks #1 country with Nasdaq-listed companies except the U.S. and China, and #1 country in terms of VC Investment per Capita and as a percentage of GDP. Startup Nation is also #1 country in terms of start-ups concentration*. More than 330 multinational established R&D centers in Israel scouting for the latest innovation.** Israeli startups raised a record of $3.2B in the first half of 2018.
“Introducing the Israeli Company Track at Pennsylvania’s largest venture event is a game changer. Promoting investment in Israeli innovation will position the Greater Philadelphia region as more attractive to Israeli companies seeking a location for their US offices. Combined with innovative regional stakeholders, a highly trained and educated work-force, and competitive operations costs, we anticipate more Israeli companies to call the Greater Philadelphia home.” remarked Vered Nohi, Executive Director of Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce.
PACT’s inaugural Israeli Company Track is a testament of the growing appreciation of and regional investment in Israeli innovation. In 2017-2018, Israeli individual companies presented at PACT and Keiretsu Mid-Atlantic Forum events. Thomas Jefferson University Hospital launched Jefferson Israel Center in June and is forming joint ventures with Israeli startups. Regional companies such as Evolve IP acquired Israeli startups. The PICC has also been working with individual investors who invest in Israeli innovation.
