(Philadelphia, PA– January 29, 2014) – The Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (PICC) was
honored to name Cynthia B. Kane, Special Assistant to the Delaware Secretary of State, as a new
member of its Board of Directors, effective the 21st of November, 2013. Ms. Kane is an international
marketing expert who spearheads marketing for the Division of Corporations at the Delaware
Department of State.
“We are very excited to welcome Ms. Kane to the PICC Board of Directors. The PICC serves the Greater
Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern New Jersey region. As a representative of the State of Delaware,
Ms. Kane will be valuable in helping the PICC grow its presence in Delaware and boost trade and R&D
collaborations between Israel and the First State,” remarked Richard Bendit, President of the PICC. “Her
wealth of experience working with Israeli companies that are incorporated in Delaware complements
the PICC’s ability to attract Israeli businesses to our region.”
Ms. Kane has served three consecutive governors and their secretaries of state including Senator
Thomas R. Carper and Secretary Edward J. Freel, Governor Ruth Ann Minner and Secretary Harriet Smith
Windsor, Governor Jack A. Markell and Secretary Jeffrey W. Bullock. During her tenure at the
Department of State, she has organized Delaware trade missions and incorporation seminars in Israel,
England, Holland, Germany, Japan, Chile, Argentina, Ireland, Taiwan, Turkey, Vietnam, Brazil and India.
Previously, Ms. Kane served as coordinator of the ‘National Governors Association’s Seminar for new
Governors’ in 1998, and as coordinator for the national board meeting of ‘Jobs for American Graduates’
in 1999. Before joining the Department of State, she served as the Special Projects Coordinator at the
Delaware Economic Development Office, as well as the Executive Director of Delaware’s Gubernatorial
Inauguration in 1992-1993.
Ms. Kane holds a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University and has done graduate work at George
Washington University in Washington, D.C. She serves on the International Women’s Forum, as well as
the Board of Advisors to the Institute of Law & Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition,
Ms. Kane serves on many cultural and non-profit boards of directors both nationally and within the State
